Christine Scott And Vincent Van Dog , Gay Pride Vancouver – Acrylic on Canvas
|36 × 48 in
My German wife Christina lake was very upset, but I stupidly published the swastika the baseball cap. Of all the stupid things I’ve done in the last 50 years of my career. This was the dumbest with my older brother loves to remind me however, he works in government in the pork barrel. Where is I am in the real world in the marketplace marketplace is very unforgiving when you make a blunder. The shit storm was amazing and I learned in my naivety about social media.
Christine did this painting for the gay pride parade in Vancouver. 60,000 revellers showed up for the event. It was a huge party celebrating gay pride. Beside her is our loyal dog Vincent van dog always at our side always supportive. This painting was a collaboration. Christine did that figure and I did the landscape. It was a tragedy that her mental illness was too much for her. She tried to kill herself five times and finally waited till I was out ballroom dancing, and did the deed. I’ve never seen a dead body.
The word swastika comes from Sanskrit, which means good fortune or well-being. The motif appears to be have been used in Eurasia as early as 7000 years ago. It represented the movement of the sun through the sky. This day it is the sacred symbol of the Hindus, Buddhist And any other religions. It’s a common site in temples warehouses in India and Indonesia. What seekers also have an ancient history in Europe, appearing on artefacts from free Christian European cultures.
The symbol experienced a resurgence in the 19th century, as a result of growing interest in ancient civilizations in the near east and India. Swastika was discovered on the site of ancientTroy . This was connected with similar shapes, found on pottery in Germany speculation was that it was a significant religious symbol of remote ancestors.
In the 20 century, the swastika was widely used in Europe. It had numerous meanings, the most common, being a symbol of good luck and auspiciousness
However, it was taken up by racist groups and became a symbol of Aryan identity in German nationalism. The fact that swastika went back to early German pottery and German culture, and the descent of the German people is why the Nazis got to the swastika as it symbol.
Christine‘s family was heavily bombed in Osnabrock in northern Germany during World War II. Both of her parents had sleeping disorders resulting from post traumatic stress from their experiences in Nazi Germany. This was passed on to Christine and precipitated her mental illness and suicide later on in life. She did leave a legacy of her paintings and self portraits and also a sculpture, which was the last piece she created is probably displayed in my sculpture garden in Black Creek. The raccoons are in my rosebush. The cat the most an amazing bloom has the nutrients fertilized the rosebush.
