From its beginning as a rough logging camp, the Courtenay Comox area has gone on to grow and develop into a very genteel spot for western Canadian retirees. It has been more than happy to accept its new arrivals from Edmonton and Calgary via WestJet.
Some large farms still exist, especially around Black Creek where Brian lives, but the rolling golf courses and the spectacular skiing conditions on Mount Washington lure active retirees from all over Canada. Comox Glacier hangs above the valley, creating breathtaking views, restaurants and pubs are superb, and the weather, if a little wet, is very humane, making it a great place to live.
Brian now calls the area home, and enjoys the great diversity available in painting subjects.
